Two trainees from Tanzania were invited to Japan under the UNIDO ITPO Tokyo’s “Industrial Vocational Training Programme in Africa and Asia through Technology Transfer from Japan” and completed the training in April 2025 to learn Japanese automotive recycling technology from a Japanese company, Kaiho Industry Co., Ltd. in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. During their training, they learned automotive recycling and dismantling techniques from Kaiho Industry at their factory and training centre. Since seceral African countries including Tanzania are facing environmental problems and health issues due to the lack of appropriate recycling technology for end-of-life vehicles.
Two trainees from the Dar Es Salaam Regional Vocational Training Service Centre (Dar Es Salaam RVTSC) in Tanzania learned automotive recycling and dismantling techniques. Mr. Evordius Wenceslaus Kadason and Mr. Daud Nyangi Masige, who are working as an instructor for automotive maintenance and repair at Dar Es Salaam RVTSC. The training conducted from 31 March to 25 April, 2025 in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
About the Training Programme
The training programme took place over 20 days from 31 March to 25 April, 2025 in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. In addition to training on the following topics, lectures were given on Japanese laws and regulations concerning end-of-life vehicles recycling.

On 25 April, the closing ceremony was held with the participation of Ms. Edna Dioniz Chuku, Counsellor of Economic Affairs from Tanzania Embassy Japan, Mr. Takayuki Kondo, President from Kaiho Industry and Mr. Hideki Murakami, Deputy Head from UNIDO ITPO Tokyo.
As the next phase of the programme, a training to disseminate the technology and know-how the trainees acquired in Japan will be held in Ghana (Phase 2), June to September 2025 onwards. Further information will be updated on the project page.
