STePP Africa and Asian Industrial Vocational Training Programme: Mebiol Inc.’s IMEC System in India

UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, in cooperation with the Government of Japan, has launched the “Industrial Vocational Training Programme in Africa and Asia through Technology Transfer from Japan”. The programme aims to transfer the technology and knowledge of Japanese companies to local engineers and vocational trainees in Africa and Asia, contributing to human resource development and sustainable industrial development in those countries. Mebiol Inc., selected as a partner for this project, conducted a one-week training program in October 2024 for two trainers from India. This training is purpose of guiding the technology transfer of the IMEC system in India and support the development of agricultural skills.  

The program participants were Mr. P.K. Singh and Mr. Rajiv from Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology (CSAUA&T) in India. The training took place over five days, from October 20 to October 25, 2024. 

On October 25, a closing ceremony was held, attended by Hiroshi Yoshioka, CEO of Mebiol Inc., Fumio Adachi, Director of the UNIDO Tokyo Office, and Felda Gelegen, Deputy Director. 

As the next phase of this training program, local vocational training in India is scheduled to take place starting from March 2025. Updates on this program will be shared on the project page as needed.
