On 13 December 2024, UNIDO Tokyo Office had a booth at the Global Summit Toyohashi 2024 organised by the Toyohashi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where it introduced an overview of UNIDO Tokyo Office activities and STePP initiatives.

The event aimed to support local companies to promote their international expansion and was organised in collaboration with several organisations, including JETRO Nagoya, Tokai Agricultural Administration Bureau and Nagoya Customs Toyohashi Branch.

UNIDO, together with other agencies, operated an overseas development support booth, where UNIDO representatives provided materials on sustainable industrial development and technology transfer, and exchanged information on support programmes, in particular business matching with developing countries and the Sustainable Technology Promotion Platform (STePP). UNIDO also provided advice based on its achievements in response to questions from participants who visited the booth.

UNIDO will continue to play an important role in supporting technology transfer and international deployment for developing countries, particularly in strengthening cooperation with local authorities and SMEs.
