UNIDO ITPO Tokyo and the Embassy of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Japan organized ”Algeria Business and Investment Seminar” in Tokyo on Friday, 29 March.
The seminar featured the latest business environment and opportunities in Algeria, and attracted nearly 50 business people.
Following the Opening remarks by Mr. Yuko Yasunaga, Head of UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, and the Welcome remarks by H.E. Mr. Mohamed El Amine Bencherif, Ambassador of Algeria in Japan, Mr. Alaaeddine Harhoura, General Directorate of the Industrial and Technological Development gave a presentation. He highlighted Algeria’s priority sectors for diversification, such as agriculture, industry, tourism, renewable energy, and ICT as well as tax incentives and cost-competitiveness. He concluded his presentation with a list of partnership projects selected for Japanese investors. Then Mr. Lies Kerrar, UNIDO Advisor in Algeria explained about the present economic situation in the country with its attractive factors for Japanese companies, and 4 promising sectors.
After the seminar participants and speakers had active interaction in a networking session.
