UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, JETRO, JICA and UNDP jointly organized a seminar on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on Thursday, 21st November, in commemoration of Africa Industrialization Day. This seminar was attended by about 250 participants interested in business and investment opportunities in Africa.
In the seminar, representatives from AfCFTA secretariat, UNIDO and JICA gave a presentation and introduced the outline of AfCFTA, the current progress of its implementation, and its future prospects.
In panel discussion, an African company “AJA Limited” using the AfCFTA’s framework and a Senior Adviser from JICA discussed the current situation of AfCFTA and benefits of utilizing its framework, particularly for Japanese companies.
