UNIDO ITPO Tokyo invited Mr. Thierry Badou, Director of Investment Attraction, Investment Promotion Center in Cote d’Ivoire (CEPICI), and Mr. Lamine Kone, Vice-President, General Confederation of Enterprises in Cote d’Ivoire (CGECI) from 23 to 27 September 2024 in order to introduce the investment climate and opportunities in Cote d’Ivoire.
Profile of Mr. Badou (CEPICI)
Mr. Badou is graduated from the National Polytechnic Institute of Cote d’Ivoire, where he holds a master degree in Business Administration from Ecole Superieure de Commerce d’Abidjan (ESCA), one of the top leading business schools in west Africa. He also holds a Certificate in Business English completed in the University of Brighton, in the UK, and certificates in FDI Promotion, Investment Facilitation and Territorial Marketing.
He joined CEPICI, the Ivoirian national investment promotion agency in 2016, as Regional Head of Investment promotion. In this key organization, he sharpened his sense and abilities to serve companies and private sector in general, with the ambition to foster the achievement of the country’s foreign direct investment attraction goals.
Profile of Mr. Kone (CGECI)
Mr. Kone graduated from the University of Konstanz in Germany. After that, he got master degree in financial modeling from the Ecole Centrale Paris. He also got certified as a AMP (Advanced Management Program) from MDE Business School in Cote d’Ivoire and IESE Business School in Spain.
In 2023, he became Vice President of General Confederation of Enterprises in Cote d’Ivoire (CGECI). And the following year, in 2024, he became President of Business Association of Construction and Public Works of Cote d’Ivoirthe (GIBTP), which supports sustainable economic growth in Cote d’Ivoire by promoting domestic and foreign investment.
Promotional Activities
While Mr. Badou and Mr. Kone stay in Japan, they attended “Cote d’Ivoire Business Seminar”. They introduced the investment climate and business opportunities in Cote d’Ivoire in their presentations and held networking sessions with Japanese companies interested in expanding into Cote d’Ivoire. Individual meetings were also held with Japanese companies interested in business and investment in Cote d’Ivoire, as well as companies already doing business in Cote d’Ivoire, providing necessary information according to each company’s situation.
