UNIDO ITPO Tokyo and the Embassy of Tanzania in Tokyo will jointly organize the Tanzania Investment Seminar on Tuesday, 3 June, taking the opportunity of the visit to Japan of Mr. Teri, Executive Director of Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC).
The Embassy of Tanzania in Tokyo will organize the “Tanzania Business Investment and Tourism Forum” in Osaka on Monday, 26 May. For more information, please visit the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry website.
Tanzania is known in Japan as a leading tourist destination, with an abundance of natural and cultural heritage sites, such as Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro; a national park famous for safaris; and the resort island of Zanzibar.
Tanzania’s population has already exceeded 61.7 million, according to the 2022 census, making it the fifth-largest nation on the African continent and the third-fastest-growing in the world.
In the seminar, the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) will speak about foreign investment policies, the business environment, and investment opportunities. This seminar also includes presentations by TOPPAN Digital Inc. and WASSHA Inc., who are currently doing business in Tanzania.
TOPPAN Digital Inc. is developing smart agriculture solutions that are based on needs or actual situations in Africa by making use of TOPPAN Group’s DX/SX solutions. They have started a demonstration test in Tanzania for developing a smart agriculture solution conducive to data-driven farm management.
WASSHA Inc. provides LED lantern rental services to non-electrified areas in Africa through kiosks (local retail stores). They started their business in Tanzania in 2015 and expanded their service while cooperating with over 3,500 kiosks in the whole state of Tanzania, as well as in Uganda, Mozambique, DRC, and Nigeria.
Also, UNIDO ITPO Tokyo’s advisor in Tanzania, who took up this post last February, will introduce his support to Japanese companies.
This seminar has been applied for ‘overseas business events during Expo’ and the ‘TICAD 9 partner project’.
